The M. Iashvili Children’s Central Hospital, Georgia’s only tertiary, multidisciplinary pediatric referral hospital, and the George Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology and Virology have signed a memorandum of cooperation. The hospital's medical director, Ivane Chkhaidze, says a primary practical outcome will be the active integration of bacteriophages into pediatric practice, on an individualized basis for the most severe, drug-resistant cases.
