P-PEAKS UTI: international trial of personalized phage therapy for recurrent E. coli urinary tract infections, led from Unity Health Toronto

Dr. Gregory German of Unity Health Toronto will lead P-PEAKS UTI, an international clinical trial in which about 220 women with E. coli urinary tract infections lasting a year or more will receive either personalized phage therapy or placebo, alongside a single dose of IV antibiotic given to both groups. The study, made up of 20 partners from 13 countries, recently received a $25 million funding award from the European Union.
