The Swiss AI Initiative offers six-month compute grants on CSCS Alps for research advancing foundation models and open-science AI applications, typically requesting 20,000–32,000 GPU hours, with smaller requests also possible. Proposals enter review on the first of each month. International collaborations are welcome, but every team must include a researcher employed at a recognized Swiss research institution in a qualifying permanent or professor tenure-track role at least 50% FTE throughout the project. Private-company participants cannot directly request or access the computing resources.
