NUS team reports phage based LySE platform for engineering bacteria

Lytic Selection and Evolution (LySE) uses a modified bacteriophage to evolve long gene clusters. In a proof of concept, the team improved bacterial degradation of a plastic ingredient by more than 50% after five cycles.
